Shri Naveen Srivastava, Director (Operations & Projects) at POWERGRID, has been honored as the Sustainability Leader of the Year 2024 at the prestigious Global Sustainability Awards, organized by the Global Energy & Environment Foundation (GEEF). The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to the power transmission sector and his role in driving sustainability within the energy infrastructure of India.
This recognition underscores the growing significance of sustainable practices in the energy sector, where efficient power transmission plays a crucial role in reducing carbon footprints and supporting renewable energy integration. Srivastava’s leadership is seen as a benchmark in advancing eco-friendly initiatives within high-capacity energy networks.
Technical Focus
India’s power transmission sector is critical for renewable energy integration. With a renewable energy target of 500 GW by 2030, the grid must handle large-scale green energy. Innovations in SCADA, grid communication, and energy storage solutions are pivotal to achieving sustainability goals. A graduate in Electrical Engineering (Hons) from the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, Srivastava also holds credentials from the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, and the Harvard Manage Mentor program at Harvard Business School. With over 25 years of experience, he has led various advancements in O&M, T&C, and SCADA technologies, driving efficiency and reliability in power networks.
