The initiative is pivotal for advancing sustainability reporting across Europe.
Applicants will engage in a hands-on role to shape future corporate transparency.
EFRAG (European Financial Reporting Advisory Group) is recruiting secondees to help develop the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRSs), a cornerstone of the EU's sustainability agenda. This initiative seeks experts with hands-on experience in sustainability reporting to contribute directly to refining these standards and enhancing corporate ESG transparency across Europe.
This call for secondees is critical for supporting the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which mandates consistent sustainability disclosures from companies. By developing the ESRSs, EFRAG aims to create a unified framework that serves investors, regulators, and businesses, facilitating Europe’s transition to a sustainable economy.
Technical Focus
The European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRSs) are designed to provide a comprehensive framework for corporate sustainability reporting in alignment with the EU’s Green Deal. Covering topics from climate impacts to social equity, these standards will enable more consistent and comparable ESG data disclosure, ensuring that businesses meet stakeholders' expectations. The ESRSs will apply to over 50,000 companies under the CSRD.
Selected secondees will collaborate with EFRAG’s teams, policymakers, and stakeholders to ensure the standards address the diverse needs of European businesses. "We’re looking for professionals who can bring valuable expertise to this crucial work," a representative from EFRAG commented.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of European sustainability reporting. Interested candidates should submit their applications to nominations@efrag.org by 15 December 2024.
